Powder charging: how does it work?
1) In a corona gun the high voltage electrode generates a big quantity of air ions
2) Only part of the air ions really charge the powder particles, the other ions remain free and are attracted by the surface to coat (which is grounded).
3) The accumulation of free ions on the surface to coat can produce an uneven powder layer and the so called "orange peel effect" or "back-ionization" problems.

The SuperCorona is an optional extension for the Automatic powder gun, allowing for a better
surface quality when coatingwith the powder coating equipment.When coating wheel rims,
drawers, radiators, lamps etc. the surfacequality is exceptional, also in places with higher
coating layerrequirements. By coating with several powder types, an "orange peel"finish can be
completely avoided. By coating with structure powder, the"picture frame effect" is hardly visible.
