1. Brief introduction
Electric arc furnace makes use of high temperature produced by electrode arc to melt ore and metal. When gas discharges to form the arc, energy is so concentrated that the arc temperature is above 3000 degree. For melting metal, the process of electric arc furnace is more flexible than any other steel-making furnaces, where the impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus can be removed efficiently. This series of furnaces are mainly used for melting quality alloy steel and furnace temperature is easy to control. It has the advantage of less occupied area.
