AWG-12 3.5mm Royal Cord Sjt (Portable Cord)

Overview: Type UL62 Flexible Cords are manufactured using bare flexible stranded Class K copper conductors insulated with heat, moisture, and oil-resistant thermoplastic PVC. A heat, moisture, and oil-resistant thermoplastic PVC jacket is extruded over the assembly to complete the construction.
UL 62 Type Flexible Cords and Cables are permitted by Article 400 and related articles of the National Electrical Code. UL 62 Flexible cords and cables are designed for connecting household appliances to fixed power supplies and for extra-hard usage on industrial equipment, heavy tools, battery chargers, portable lights, and power extensions. They are sunlight, water, oil, and weather resistant and suitable for outdoor applications.

STW cables
Where: S stands for Extra Hard Service; cables beginning with an S are rated for 600V service; T stands for Thermoplastic jacket; these cables are made with PVC; W stands for Weather and Water Resistant; cabling is rated for outdoor use.

SJTW cables
SJTW is an industry-standard abbreviation used on wire and cable. S is for service; J is for junior (defined as hard service instead of extra hard); T is the coating (thermoplastic/vinyl); W is weather-approved. It means it is a hard service, thermoplastic rated for 300V, and approved for our use.

This standard specifies the requirements for flexible cords, elevator cables, hoistway cables rated 600 V maximum, and electric vehicle cables rated 1,000 V maximum, which are intended for CAN/CSA C22.1. Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, in Canada, NOM-001-SEDE, La Norma de Instalaciones Electricas, Mexico, and NFPA 70,  National Electrical Code (NEC), in the United States.
