Petroleum Color Scale ASTM D1500 Transformer Oil Color Meter

Lucyelec SD01 Petroleum color meter is designed and manufactured according to standard ASTM D1500 and SH/T0168 in Petroleum Products Chroma Determination Method, applicable to test the color of various petroleum products such as transformer oil, lube oil, kerosene and diesel, etc.

Determination of the color of petroleum products is used mainly for manufacturing control purposes and is an important quality characteristic, since color is readily observed by the user of the product. In some cases, the color may serve as an indication of the degree of refinement of the material. When the color range of a particular product is known, a variation outside the established range may indicate possible contamination with another product. However, color is not always a reliable guide to product quality and should not be used indiscriminately in product specifications.

This color tester is suitable to determine color of various lubricating oils and other petroleum products as per industrial standard of China SH/T 0168-92 Standard Test Method for Color of Petroleum Products. The test methods are as follows: Fill test sample into color comparing tube and compare sample color with standard color to ascertain its color number. Please see the attached color number comparing sheet to find out the similarity between color number of the instrument and color number in standard GB/T6540.

Features:

1. The apparatus consists of standard color plate, observed optical lens, light source, colorimetric tube.
2. We adopt 220V, 100W Light source, temperature 2750K bulb inside frosted shell as light source, light source through glass and daylight filter 33 glass, the obtained spectral characteristics of light similar to standard light. Standard light passes through plane mirror, prisms then composes of two parallel beams, it got same size and shape, can simultaneously irradiate on specimen of colorimetric tube on the glass of standard color palette.
3. Standard color plate equips with 26 sets of Φ14mm light holes, which are the order of 25 standard color number glass with number 1-25, the 26th hole is one blank hole, color wheel mounted on the apparatus right hand wheel rotation, so that choosing right color when experiment operating. The standard color on the color plate glass color calibration standards should be drawn as color correction.
4. Colorimetric tube diameter is Φ32mm, height is (120 ~ 130) mm of flat glass. Install the Colorimetric tube from the top of the apparatus.
5. Observed eyepiece consists of the concave mirror and the divided grille, user may see two semi-circle colors through the eyepiece, the left side is the specimen color. The right side is the standard color; optical eyepiece possesses light adjustment and focusing function, easy to use.
