A critical temperature of 237°C and a critical pressure of 6.0795MPa reflect its stability under various conditions. During pyrolysis, it releases HCl and trace ***, and long-term heating with water yields formaldehyde and HCl. Additionally, further chlorination can produce valuable compounds like CHCl3 and CCl4.
