Diethanolamine, abbreviated as DEA or DEOA, is an organic compound with the chemical formula HN(CH2CH2OH)2. Pure diethanolamine is a white solid at room temperature, but its easy deliquesce and easy supercooling make it appear as a colorless transparent liquid [2]. As a secondary amine and diol, diethanolamine has many uses in organic synthesis. Similar to other amine compounds, diethanolamine is weakly alkaline.
