C5 petroleum resin, as a tackifier resin has occupied an important position. Among them, the most used is hot melt adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive, rubber tire and other fields. They have good compatibility with SIS, SBS, SEBS, SEPS and other styrene polymers, natural rubber, synthetic rubber and EVA, and have good compatibility with natural viscosifying resins (terpenes, rosin and its derivatives), and improve the properties of adhesives to varying degrees. In recent years, petroleum resin has gradually replaced natural viscosifying resin with its characteristics of high peel bonding strength, fast adhesion, stable bonding performance, moderate melting viscosity, good heat resistance, good compatibility with polymer matrix, and low price.
Used as a tackifier for adhesives. Can be used in building decoration, auto parts, packaging tape, sanitary appliances and shoes.
Used as a coating additive, it can speed up the drying time, increase the hardness and gloss of the coating, but also enhance the adhesion ability, extend the service life of the coating (aging resistance), and enhance the resistance to the environment (waterproof ability, acid and alkali resistance).
Used as a container and packaging additive, it can improve the thermal resistance, transparency and softness of materials.
It can also be used for rubber, plastic and optical records.
