The face layer is treated with Wearproof Water Repellent finish to help keep the outer layer from absorbing water;
The middle layer is a waterproof breathable membrane which has tiny holes too small to let liquid water in but large enough to allow water vapor to escape;
The inner layer protects the waterproof layer, keep sweat and oils from clogging the microscopic holes in the waterproof-breathable layer, thus maintaining better breathability after washing.
