N-Methyl pyrrolidone (also known as NMP) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H7NO. It is a colorless, flammable, volatile liquid with a strong odor. NMP is mainly used as a solvent and has good solubility and can dissolve many polymers and chemicals.
NMP is widely used in industry, especially in electronic chemicals, coatings, adhesives, pharmaceuticals and other fields.
1. Electronic chemicals: NMP is often used to clean ink and photoresist on the surface of semiconductor materials. It is also used as an excellent cleaning agent for electronic circuit boards and lithium batteries.
2. Coatings and adhesives: NMP can be used as a solvent for coatings and adhesives to improve the performance of coatings and adhesives.
Pharmaceuticals: NMP is used as API and intermediates in the pharmaceutical field, for example, in the synthesis of antiviral drugs.
3. Other applications: NMP can also be used in the production of plastics, synthetic fibers, printing inks, ion exchange resins and other fields.
