Product Description

The DAM2 series Moulded Case Circuit Breaker represents the pinnacle of advanced circuit breaker technology, designed meticulously by Shanghai DaDa Electric Co., Ltd. Boasting a compact size, exceptional breaking capacity, minimal arc-over distance, and robust shakeproof features, these circuit breakers are the perfect solution for both land-based and marine applications.

Application

The DAM2 (CM1) series, with a rated insulation voltage of 800V, is engineered for AC 50Hz/60Hz distribution networks, supporting a working voltage of 690V and a current of up to 1250A. These breakers safeguard against overloads, short circuits, under-voltage, and other faults, ensuring the protection of circuits and power equipment. Suitable for both infrequent circuit conversions and motor starts, the DAM2 series can be installed vertically or horizontally and serves as an isolation unit. It adheres to the IEC60947-2 standard for low-voltage switchgear and control equipment.

Normal operating conditions

1. Ambient air temperature: -5ºC to +40ºC, with a maximum 24-hour average below +35ºC.
2. Altitude: Installation sites must not exceed an altitude of 2000m.
3. Atmospheric conditions: Maximum relative humidity of 50% at +40ºC, higher humidity permissible at lower temperatures. Average monthly relative humidity can reach 90% at +25ºC, accounting for temperature-induced condensation.
4. Pollution Degree: 3.

Selection of instructions

Circuit breakers are classified into four types based on their poles:
Type A: N-pole without over-current release components, always connected, and does not engage with the other three poles to switch on or off.
Type B: N-pole without over-current release components, engages with the other three poles (N-pole turns on before and off after the others).
Type C: N-pole equipped with over-current release components, engages with the other three poles (N-pole turns on before and off after the others).

Accessories:

1. Internal accessories of circuit breakers:

1.1 Shunt release:
Rated control supply voltage for shunt release: AC50Hz, 230V, 400V; DC110V, 220V, 24V. Ensures reliable circuit breaker operation within 70%~110% of rated voltage.

For a DC24V rated control supply voltage, the maximum length of copper wire must adhere to specified requirements:

Rated control
supply voltage Uc(DC24V)/Conductor area
1.5mm²2.5mm²
100%Uc
85%Uc
150m
100m
250m

If these specifications are not met, consider designing the shunt release control circuit according to the provided diagram.

1.2 Under-voltage release:

When power supply voltage drops to 70%~35% of under-voltage release rated voltage, the circuit breaker reliably disconnects.
If the voltage falls below 35% of the rated voltage, the under-voltage release prevents the circuit breaker from closing.
When the supply voltage exceeds 85% of the under-voltage release rated voltage, it ensures the circuit breaker remains closed.
Under-voltage releases are rated at AC50Hz, 230V and 400V.
400V.
Special Note: Circuit breakers with under-voltage release can only operate normally when supplied with the rated voltage.
normally.

1.3 Pre-paid meter dedicated release:

The rated operating voltage (Ue) of the pre-paid meter dedicated release is AC230/50Hz, ensuring reliable performance within a broad range of (65% ~ 110%) Ue. Upon the Ctrl being cut off, the circuit breaker will gracefully delay by 0.5s ~ 2s before opening.

Example: DAM2L-100 / 33102 63A defines a DAM2-type molded case circuit breaker with a frame rated at 100A, standard breaking capacity, handle operation, 3 poles, double release, shunt release, motor protection, and a rated current of 63A.
Selection, installation, and use must adhere to the product manual or pertinent national standards.
Note: For N-pole type 4P circuit breakers, A-type and B-type exist. Absence of specification defaults to B-type.

Working Principle: Core Functionality
The primary contact of the molded case circuit breaker can be managed manually or electrically. Once closed, the free release mechanism secures the main contact in the closed position.
The overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element are serially connected to the main circuit.
The undervoltage
release
coil is parallelly connected to the power supply.
