- Permanent magnet motors, also known as permanent magnet synchronous motors, are mostly permanent magnet variable frequency motors, which are excited by permanent magnets and have no excitation windings, so there is no excitation loss. Compared with ordinary motors (or ordinary three-phase asynchronous motors), permanent magnet variable frequency motors have no electrical excitation and corresponding losses, permanent magnet rotors do not generate heat, and the electrical load can be selected very high, so they are small in size and high in power density.
With the rapid development of new motor control theory and rare earth permanent magnet materials, the performance of permanent magnet motors has been further improved.
The advantages are as follows:
1. High efficiency and energy saving. Because the excitation magnetic field is provided by permanent magnets, the permanent magnet rotor does not need excitation, and the efficiency can be as high as 90% or more. Compared with the asynchronous motor, the permanent magnet motor has a wide range of high-efficiency operation speed and significant energy saving. Especially when running at low speed, the advantage is more obvious.
2. Low temperature rise. No electrical excitation of the rotor means no loss of heat, so permanent magnet motors generally have a low temperature rise.
3. Good starting performance. Since the rotor winding does not work when the permanent magnet motor is working normally, the rotor winding can be designed to fully meet the requirements of high starting torque, such as from 1.8 times to 2.5 times, or even greater.
4. High power factor. The impact on the operation of the power grid is that the asynchronous motor needs to absorb a large amount of reactive current from the power grid, resulting in a large amount of reactive current in the power transmission and transformation system of the power grid, which in turn reduces the quality factor of the power grid and increases the load on the power transmission and transformation equipment and power generation equipment. At the same time, the reactive current consumes part of the electric energy in the power grid, that is, in the power transmission and transformation system, resulting in low operating efficiency of the power grid, which is superimposed with the low efficiency of the asynchronous motor and the fact that it absorbs more power from the power grid. Hair aggravated. The unique advantages of permanent magnet motor rotor without electric excitation and high power factor help to improve the quality factor of the power grid or eliminate the need to install a compensator in the power grid. The improved power factor can also increase the utilization of the transformer.
5. High power density. Due to the use of high-performance permanent magnet materials to provide a magnetic field, the air-gap magnetic field of the permanent magnet motor is greatly enhanced compared with that of ordinary motors, while the volume and weight of permanent magnet motors are greatly reduced and lighter than those of ordinary motors. The motor can be designed and installed according to the ordinary motor and the size of one or two smaller frame sizes, which is very convenient to use in energy-saving transformation and upgrading.
