The operating principle of a single-screw compressoris achieved through a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, known as the male and female rotors. These rotors, featuring a series of precisely-crafted concave teeth, rotate in opposite directions to create a powerful compression process. With an incredibly tight clearance of only 5 to 10 microns between the rotors and the casing, the magic begins. The male rotor, the powerhouse, is driven by an engine or electric motor, while the female rotor is guided by an oil film or synchronized gears, preventing any metal contact during operation. As the rotors whirl, gas fills the rotor grooves through the intake, transforming into a sealed compression chamber by the casing. Injected lubricating oil performs the triple role of sealing, cooling, and lubricating, as the rotors continue their rotation. The compression chamber's volume decreases, merging the gas into an oil-gas ensemble and expelling it through the exhaust, completing a seamless cycle of intake, compression, and exhaust.
