The S and P impurity content of 1015high-quality carbon structural steel is lower than that of ordinary carbon structural steel, generally below 0.035% (mass fraction). Because of its low carbon content (between 0.12-0.18%), its hardness is relatively low. In addition, due to the low carbon content of No. 15 steel, it is difficult to improve the hardness of parts made of such materials after heat treatment.
