Overview of Shaking Tables
Shaking tables, also known as mineral jigs or gravity shaking tables, are gravity separation devices widely used in the mineral processing and metal recovery industries. They utilize the vibration and water flow on an inclined surface to separate particles based on weight differences.
Working Principle:
The working principle of shaking tables is based on the different frictional and hydrodynamic forces experienced by particles of different densities on an inclined surface. When the material is placed on an inclined bed surface and subjected to mechanical vibration and water flushing, heavier mineral particles, due to their greater inertia and smaller friction, tend to move downward along the slope; lighter mineral particles, due to their smaller inertia and greater friction, move more slowly or even against the flow. In this way, heavy and light minerals are effectively separated.
Types:
There are several types of shaking tables, including:
- Mechanical Shaking Tables: Use mechanical vibrators to generate vibration.
- Hydraulic Shaking Tables: Utilize the pulsation of water flow to create vibration.
- Fixed Slope Shaking Tables: The bed angle is fixed, suitable for specific particle sizes.
- Adjustable Slope Shaking Tables: The bed angle is adjustable to adapt to different materials and sorting requirements.
