Product Description

FarBand® Ultra Low Loss and Large Effective Area Fibre
For the next generation of optical transmission networks, lower fiber attenuation coefficients or larger fiber effective areas are more conducive to the realization of the 3U concept development trend of optical communication systems (ultra-high speed, ultra-large capacity and ultra-long distance). Today, YOFC recommends you Yuanbei® ultra-strong fiber, which combines lower attenuation coefficients and larger effective areas. It is a new type of fiber that can meet the current and future development trends of optical transmission. The relevant parameters of YOFC G654E fiber fully meet or even exceed the requirements of ITU-T G.654.B/E and IEC 60793-250B1.2. It is made using YOFC's unique ultra-low attenuation process combined with an auxiliary depressed cladding profile structure. Its large core diameter profile design is conducive to increasing the effective area of the fiber and suppressing nonlinear effects. At the same time, a special attenuation reduction process is used to reduce defects in the fiber, reduce fiber doping, and make the fiber have a smaller Rayleigh scattering coefficient, which can effectively reduce the 1550nm window attenuation to below 0.17dB/km. Thanks to its special process design, YOFC G654E optical fiber also has excellent resistance to hydrogen damage and aging, and can meet stringent hydrogen loss requirements. Due to its unique depressed cladding profile structure, the optical fiber has excellent macrobending performance while ensuring a large mode field diameter. In addition, the optimized coating and coating process give the optical fiber a higher nd value to ensure a 25-year service life.

How to calculate the contribution of larger effective area and lower attenuation?
Based on the formula of OSNR, lower attenuation and larger effective area will increase OSNR of optical transmission system. And FOM (Figure of Merit) is established to calculate the contribution of effective area and attenuation. As shown in the table, YOFC ultra low loss and large effective area fibre can provide greater performance improvement than ultra low loss fibre below, or low loss and large effective fibre.
