The structure of diamond grinding wheel is different from that of ordinary abrasive grinding wheel. Generally, it is composed of diamond abrasive layer, transition layer and matrix.
The working layer is also called diamond layer, which is composed of abrasive, binder and filler, and is the working part of the grinding wheel. The transition layer is also called non-diamond layer, which is composed of binder, metal powder and filler. It is the part that firmly connects the diamond layer to the matrix.
The matrix is used to receive the abrasive layer and is firmly clamped on the spindle of the grinder with a flange when in use. Diamond grinding wheel is a super-hard abrasive grinding wheel. Compared with ordinary abrasive grinding wheels, it has very obvious characteristics and advantages:
1. The hardness of diamond abrasive determines the main characteristics of diamond grinding wheel. It can grind hard alloy, glass, ceramic and other difficult-to-process materials efficiently, and the grinding tool has the longest service life.
2. Diamond has high wear resistance. The less the grinding wheel wears, the longer the service life. In the grinding process, the size, shape and morphology of diamond abrasive grains change little, which is more suitable for high-precision processing and has high production efficiency. Diamond grinding wheel is a tool that can meet both high efficiency and precision processing.
3. The diamond grinding wheel after sharpening can maintain the micro-edge property of the abrasive grains for a long time. The good cutting performance ensures a smaller grinding force during the grinding process, thereby reducing the grinding power and saving energy.
4. The thermal conductivity of diamond is very good, which is conducive to the evacuation of heat, avoiding the phenomenon of workpiece burns, cracks and block falling, and greatly improving the quality of workpiece surface processing.
