1.What is an aseptic pigging system?
An aseptic pigging system allows to recover cost intensive products out of product lines. Powered by compressed sterile air, the pig pushes the product out of the pipe. The remaining product film on the inside of the product line can then be removed with the CIP.
2.What is a pipeline pig?
Pigs act like a pipe-cleaning squeegee, but instead of being forced through the pipe on a wire, the pipe-cleaning action uses forced air, nitrogen, or water that pushes the projectile and product through the piping.
3.What is the purpose of pipeline piggging?
The purpose of pipeline pigging is to clean, or recover valuable products from pipelines. Pigs are used to remove debris, contaminants, inspect pipeline integrity, and maximize liquid product recovery, reducing waste and improving operational efficiency in various industries.
