Fortron 1140L4 DW is a 40% glass-reinforced grade that is the strongest and toughest product available. It has been developed for use in drinking water applications. It exhibits excellent heat and chemical resistance, good electrical properties and is inherently flame-retardant. The high hardness and rigidity at elevated temperatures allows for good load bearing performance. This product has good weldability due to the modest filler level. Applications made of this grade are electronical components (i.e. bobbins, lamp housings, brush holders) and various other components requiring strength and resistance to aggressive chemicals (i.e. automotive heaters, pumps, valves, fuel rails, microwave oven rings and distillation column packings).
PPS polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), English name is polyphenylene sulfide, abbreviated as PPS. It is the simplest aromatic polymer containing sulfur.
One of the biggest characteristics of PS is its good chemical corrosion resistance, and its chemical stability is second only to PTFE. The resin with good radiation resistance, high heat resistance (continuous use temperature up to 240 ° C), mechanical strength, high rigidity, fire resistance, chemical resistance, electrical properties and dimensional stability has excellent wear resistance, creep resistance and flame retardancy.
It has self extinguishing property, reaching UL94V-0 level, and still maintains good electrical performance under high temperature and high humidity.
It has good fluidity and is easy to form. There are almost no shrinkage pits during forming.
PPS is a kind of white, high crystallinity, hard and brittle polymer. The relative density of pure PPS is 1.3, but the water absorption of PPS after modification is very small, generally only about 0.03%.
PPS has good flame retardancy, and its oxygen index is up to 44%; It is a high flame retardant material.
The flexural modulus of pure PPS can reach 3.8GPa, and that of inorganic filled PPS can reach 12.6gpa 5 times larger. The PPO, which is famous for its rigidity, is only 2.55gpa, and the PC is only 2.1gpa PPS also has excellent thermal performance. It can withstand 260 ºC in the short term and can be used for a long time at 200~240 ºC.
Common injection molding conditions are as follows. Barrel temperature: pure PPS: 280-330*c, 40% gf-pps: 300-350ºC
Nozzle temperature: pure PPS is: 305 ºC, 40% gf-pps is: 330 ° C Mold temperature: 120~180 ° C.
