Product Description
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) is a cellulose ether variety that has rapidly increased in production and dosage in recent years. They are non ionic cellulose mixed ethers made from refined cotton after alkalization treatment, using epoxy propane and chloromethane as etherification agents, through a series of reactions. Their degree of substitution is generally 1.2-2.0. Their properties are influenced by the content of hydroxypropyl groups. It is a odorless, odorless, and non-toxic white powder. They have the characteristics of thickening capacity, PH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, film-forming, enzyme resistance, dispersibility and thermal gelation.

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Dissolution Method:
1. All models can be added to the material by dry mixing.
2. When it is necessary to directly add the aqueous solution at room temperature, it is best to use the cold water dispersion type, and it usually takes 10 to 90 minutes to thicken after adding.
3. For ordinary models, stir and disperse with hot water first, then add cold water to stir and cool to dissolve.
4. If agglomeration or entanglement occurs during the dissolution process, it is due to insufficient stirring or ordinary type directly added to cold water. It should be stirred quickly at this time.
5. If bubbles are generated during dissolution, they can be left to stand for 2-12 hours (the specific time is determined by the consistency of the solution) or removed by vacuum, pressurization, etc., or an appropriate amount of defoamer can be added
