Product Description

AlphaCooler

Compact, Light, Rugged Personal Cooling System for Body Core Cooling

The AlphaCooler compact cooler is an active personal cooling system. It has been widely used by race car drivers to maintain normal body temperature during racing activities. It works by pumping a cooled liquid through a vest lined with a network of tubes, using a circulating cooled liquid as the cooling medium. Metabolic heat is transferred to the circulating fluid, which is pumped back to a cooling unit where the heat is dissipated.

AlphaCooler is an off-the-shelf product. No ice. No heat. Full power. It can provide 24/7 continuous cooling in a hot environment.

It is an active compressor cooling unit. It works safely, quickly, and efficiently. Cooling fluid is cooled by AlphaCooler using a miniature rotary vapor compression compressor and returned to the heat-transfer garment to provide continuous cooling to the user.

FAQ
1. How to keep cool in your race car with Alphacooler?

The race car cooler - Alphacooler kept you cool and focused in extreme temperatures by pumping chilled water or glycol coolant through a specially designed cooling suit.

Powered by a rotary micro-compressor, the Alphacooler requires zero ice to operate. It is plug-and-play and works continuously 24/7.

We have a cooling suit with a structured vein pattern that covers a greater body surface area, enabling our design to have a superior heat exchange rate than any other cooling system.

2.What gives the AlphaCooler so much power for its size?
The AlphaCooler has one of the most powerful and efficient rotary micro compressors in the world. Cooling power equal to a compressor 5x its size is the core of our cooling system.

3.
What kind of liquid or coolant Formula I should use?
For longer system life, the Coolant Formula includes propylene glycol and a subtle fungicide, and distilled water as well.

4.
How long does the AlphaCooler operate before needing to be refilled?
The AlphaCooler functions on a continuous cycle. Your driving schedule and how often you use the system affect how often you need to refill the coolant reservoir. The AlphaCooler only requires about 5 oz (145ml). of a four-to-one coolant formula to distilled water mixture, so we recommend topping off before every use to prevent the system from running dry.

5.
How can I control the temperature of my Alpha Cooler?
A digital display on top of the AlphaCooler communicates the current temperature. You can control or adjust your temperature through the user interface, or a dash-mounted wired remote control that displays to set temperature.

6.
Can the AlpaCooler cool more than one person at a time?
Depending on the ambient temperature at the time, the car and installation, the AlphaCooler is designed to run up to 2 garments at a time.

7.
What are the power requirements to power a AlphaCooler?

Take 12-volt Alphacooler as an example, the power draw can spike to 20A max, depending on your surrounding temperature, the average draw is 7A-12A amps. While for 24 volts Alphacooler, the amps draw is half of 12 volts.

Tested in extreme temperatures around 120º, our system uses around 330 watts at maximum.

We highly recommend adding an inline fuse within 6 inches from the power supply, utilizing an ACC trigger wire, 1″-1.5″ spacers between your cooler and floor pan for air circulation, inline fans, and NACA ducting to prevent heat soak, and high amp draw. Forcing cooler ambient air to the intake of the Alphacooler can significantly affect the draw rate.
