Vane Type Demister Introduction
The DynaVaneTM style of mist eliminators is a sophisticated assembly of expertly engineered vanes. These vanes are designed to deftly separate liquid droplets from a vapor stream through inertial impaction as droplets collide with the vane surfaces. During this process, the gas skillfully navigates a zigzag pathway between the vanes, ensuring optimal separation. Over time, several foundational styles have emerged, setting the industry standard for various specialized applications.
Rhine Ruhr proudly designs and manufactures the following standard DynaVaneTM styles:
- The VC single pocket range, featuring chevron vanes without drainage channels, provides a streamlined solution.
- The VDC double pocket range is intelligently designed with enclosed drainage channels for superior efficiency.
- The HC single pocket range offers open drainage for effective liquid removal.
- The HDC double pocket range boasts enclosed drainage channels, enhancing overall functionality.
Achieve precision droplet removal for any specific size with our advanced calculations using centrifugal forces and Stokes Law. Rhine Ruhr's cutting-edge computer models foresee droplet removal efficiencies, perfectly optimizing vane geometry for tailored applications.
The liquid removal efficiency of DynaVaneTM series is an impressive 99.9% for droplets ranging from 10µ+ to 30µ+
In general, droplet removal efficiency is enhanced with the following conditions:
- Increasing Gas Velocity, which propels droplets more forcefully against the vanes.
- Increasing Gas and Liquid density difference, promoting a more substantial separation.
- Decreasing Gas Viscosity, allowing droplets to more readily be captured.
- Increase Vane Angle, optimizing the impact and capture rate.
- Decreasing Vane Pitch, improving the thoroughness of separation.
DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are meticulously custom-manufactured to seamlessly integrate with the specific vessel arrangements required. The installation, whether comprising loose segments supported by annular rings and/or beams secured with retainer bars, or vane packs designed for integration with a sealed gas box, is engineered for both efficacy and ease.
- Loose segments supported on annular rings and/or beams secured with either retainer bars.
- Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box.
In each scenario, the complete assembly is thoughtfully designed and supplied in sections, each crafted to fit through access manways for manageable installation within the vessel.
While every component is constructed from lightweight materials to facilitate installation and assembly, the overall build is robust enough to endure a wide range of service conditions, including vibrations and slugging, within a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement.

Note: Actual droplet removal size range will vary according to system properties. Mechanical Design: DynaVaneTM Mist Eliminators are custom manufactured to be compatible with the required vessel arrangement. Installation can be either:- · Loose segments supported on annular rings and/or beams secured with either retainer bars. · Vane Packs designed for fixing to a sealed gas box. In each case, the complete assembly is designed and supplied in sections which are sized to fit through access manways and are able to be man handled inside the vessel. Vane Packs consist of DynaVaneTM elements fully enclosed in housings with built in drainage sump. Although all parts are constructed from lightweight material to assist installation and assembly, the overall construction is sufficiently robust to withstand most service conditions including vibration and slugging in a suitably designed and sized vessel arrangement. |
