Colorless liquid with ammonia odor. Miscible with water, methanol, acetone, ether, aliphatic hydrocarbons, benzene, etc. It has the chemical reaction properties of primary amine, and the aqueous solution is alkaline. It is unstable to oxidants and can be decomposed by hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution in the presence of activated carbon. See photodecomposition.
