The full open valve assembly is a key component of the hydraulic end of the mud pump, with high working frequency and large impact. Its quality directly affects the service life of the hydraulic cylinder and is one of the main vulnerable parts of the mud pump. The valve assembly is installed in the valve box of the hydraulic end of the mud pump to control the closing of the inlet and drainage valves, which is crucial for maintaining the circulation of drilling fluid (mud) within the drilling rig. Valve assembly is composed of two parts: the valve body and the valve seat.


According to the inner hole of the valve seat, the valve assembly can be divided into 4-Web valve assembly, 3-Web valve assembly, and full open valve assembly. Components of Mud Pump Valve Assemblies
A typical mud pump valve assembly consists of:

Working Mechanism
During operation, mud pump valve assemblies function cyclically with the reciprocating motion of the piston. When the piston moves, suction valves open to allow mud into the pump chamber. On the return stroke, suction valves close, and discharge valves open to expel mud under pressure into the drill string. This process is essential for cooling the drill bit, carrying cuttings to the surface, and maintaining wellbore stability.
