Product Description

Cryogenic Submerged Centrifugal Pump

Product Description
A cryogenic submerged centrifugal pump is a specialized pump designed to handle cryogenic liquids (extremely cold fluids) such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied hydrogen (LH2), and other cryogenic gases. These pumps are typically used in environments where liquids must be maintained at very low temperatures to remain in their liquid state.

Based on the Principle of centrifugal pump, liquid will be delivered to pipeline after being pressurized to realize refuel liquid for vehicle or pump liquid from tank wagon to storage tank.

Cryogenic submerged centrifugal pump is a special pump used to transport cryogenic liquid (suchas liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, liquid hydrocarbon and LNG etc.). It is usually applied in industriesof vessel, petroleum, air separation and chemical plants. Its purpose is to transport cryogenic liquidfrom places with low pressure to places with high pressure.

Key Features of Cryogenic Submerged Centrifugal Pumps

  1. Submerged Design: These pumps operate submerged in the cryogenic liquid they are pumping, which ensures that the pump stays cold and avoids thermal stress caused by fluctuating temperatures.

  2. Cryogenic Temperature Handling: These pumps are engineered to handle extremely low temperatures, typically ranging from -160°C to -270°C, depending on the type of cryogenic fluid being pumped.

  3. Material Composition: Materials used in these pumps are selected for their ability to withstand low temperatures and prevent brittleness. Common materials include stainless steel, Inconel, and other alloys suited for cryogenic service.

  4. Centrifugal Action: They use centrifugal force to move the cryogenic liquid, which is ideal for continuous, high-flow-rate applications. The impeller inside the pump spins rapidly to create a flow of liquid through the system.

  5. Sealless Design: To minimize the risk of leakage, many cryogenic pumps are designed without mechanical seals, instead using magnetic couplings or submerged motors to eliminate points of failure caused by temperature differences.

  6. Vapor Handling: These pumps are equipped to handle any vaporized gas that forms during the process, ensuring stable and efficient operation without cavitation.

Product Features
1. Pump and motor are completely imm ersed in medium, which can continuously cool the pump.
2. The pump is vertical structure, which makes it operate more steadily with long service life.

Product Features

3.The motor is designed based on inverter technologies.

4. Self-balancing design is applied, which 5. makes radial force and axial force automatically balanced during operation of whole pump and extends service

Companies involved in the application area of LNG pressurizing, refueling, and transferring may include those in the natural gas industry, such as LNG producers, natural gas distributors, and companies involved in the development of natural gas infrastructure and transportation. Additionally, companies specializing in LNG equipment manufacturing, engineering, and construction may also be involved in this application area.

  1. LNG and LH2 Transfer: Cryogenic submerged centrifugal pumps are commonly used in the storage and transfer of liquefied natural gas and hydrogen at refueling stations, tanker ships, and terminals.

  2. Rocket Fueling: These pumps are often used in aerospace applications for transferring liquid oxygen (LOX) and liquid hydrogen (LH2), which are cryogenic rocket fuels.

  3. Cryogenic Storage Tanks: In industries that rely on bulk storage of cryogenic gases, such as medical oxygen or nitrogen for industrial applications, these pumps are essential for transferring liquid from storage tanks to distribution systems.

  4. Industrial Gas Supply: They are used in various industries, including petrochemicals, steel manufacturing, and electronics, where cryogenic gases are critical for processes like freezing, cooling, or purging.
