General cold rolled plates and coils should be continuously annealed (CAPL unit) or annealed in the hood furnace to eliminate cold hardening and rolling stress, to achieve the mechanical properties specified in the corresponding standards.
Cold rolled steel plate surface quality, appearance, dimensional accuracy are better than hot rolled plate, and the thickness of its products right rolled thin to 0.18mm or so, so favoured by the majority of users. Cold rolled steel coil as a substrate for the deep processing of products, become high value-added products. Such as electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized, fingerprint-resistant electro-galvanized, colour-coated steel coils and vibration-damping composite steel, PVC laminated steel.
Advantages of cold rolled steel:
(1) Higher precision, cold rolled strip thickness difference of no more than 0.01~0.03mm.
(2) Thinner dimensions, cold rolled thinnest can be rolled 0.001mm steel strip; hot rolled can now be as thin as 0.78mm.
(3) Superior surface quality, cold rolled steel plate can even produce a mirror surface; while the surface of the hot rolled plate has iron oxide,pockmarks and other defects.
(4) Cold rolled plate can be adjusted according to user requirements of its school performance such as tensile strength and process performance such as stamping performance.
Uses of cold rolled steel:
(1)Furniture and appliance manufacturing: Cold rolled mild steel coils and plates are commonly used to manufacture steel furniture, housings and parts for refrigerators, washing machines and other household appliances. The cold rolled steel coil (plate) production process is as follows:
1.Raw material preparation: cold rolled steel coil production mainly uses hot rolled coil or hot rolled steel plate as raw materials these raw materials first need to carry out quality checks to ensure that it meets the production requirements
Pre-treatment: The raw material is heated and cleaned to remove surface oxides and dirt, making the surface of the billet smoother and ready for subsequent processing.
2.Cold rolling: the raw material is fed into multi-pass cold rolling mills for rolling These mills usually consist of 4-6 passes, each with a decreasing diameter of rolls, and the raw material is rolled to the required thickness and width by pressing and stretching In the process of cold rolling, surface treatments such as embossing, trimming, and polishing are also carried out on the steel plate.
3.Pickling: After rolling, the steel plate is pickled to remove the oxide skin and rust scale on the surface and to improve the flatness and finish of the steel plate surface.
4.Oiling: After pickling, the steel plate is oiled to prevent surface oxidation and corrosion, and to reduce friction and scratches during stacking, transport and processing.
5.Cutting: The steel plate is cut into the required length and width to meet the needs of different industries.
6.Packaging: The cut steel plates are packaged and labelled with relevant information, such as plate specifications, batch number and production date.
