COLD WORK TOOL STEEL
1.2316/X38CRMO16/3Cr17NiMo
APPLICATION:
This material is mainly used in dies for pressing chemically aggressive materials, some elements of moulds for pressure die casting of the alloys of light non-ferrous metals, food industry.
SPECIFICATION:
Chrome-molybdenum stainless martensitic steel for quenching, showing the structure of perlite after heat treatment. After hardening and tempering it reaches the hardness of 220 - 275 HB depending on the dimensions.
It shows corrosion resistance in environments containing nitricacid in low concentrations, nitrate, bicarbonate and ammonium nitrite, zinc carbonate, manganese chloride, vinegar, potassium nitrate and mixtures, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water, steam, acetone, alcohol, gasoline, glycerine, chloroform, oleic acid and salicylic acid.
It is not resistant to chlorine solutions, hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, hydrofluoricacid, orthophosphoric acid, potassium sulphate, sulphuric acid, citric acid, lactic acid, formic acid, oxalic acid and tartaric acid.
