Rigid PVC Conduit pipe and ffttings are easy to install, cut and join.
The conduit's smooth interior surface reduces friction and prevents damage to wires when pulling wire and conductors for long runs and even through 90° bends.
Rigid PVC Conduit is easier to move and handle because it is approximately one-fffth the weight of steel and half the weight of aluminium.
Rigid PVC Conduit does not require additional protection for direct burial installations according to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Normal construction practices should be followed for trenching and backffll operations.
Rigid PVC Conduit is non-conductive.
Rigid PVC Conduit and ffttings resist acids, alkalis, salt solutions and most other chemicals. (Refer to the Chemical Resistance Guide for detailed information.) There is no risk of corrosion when exposed to naturally corrosive soil conditions, electrochemical or galvanic environments. Rigid PVC Conduit has achieved sunlight resistance as per the requirements of the Electrical Code.

Markings
Information to be marked on conduits,
a) The phrase "rigid PVC conduit,
b) The trade size of the conduit product,
c) The name or trademark of the manufacturer or any other distinctive marking by means of which the organization responsible for the product can be readily identified
d) The date or other dating period of manufacture not exceeding any three consecutive months.
For an elbow the date of manufacture is to be the date that:
1) The conduit is extruded when both extrusion and bending occur at the same location or
2) The elbow was formed, where the conduit is extruded at a different location.
f) All markings shall be repeated at uniform intervals and shall appear at least every 10 feet (3 m), but not less than once, on each straight length of PVC conduit.
