Product Description

Bucket Elevator Bolt

Type:Bucket Elevator Bolt
Definition:Elevator Bolt - Designed for attaching elevator buckets to conveyor belts
Elevator Bolts have a square neck which resists turning when the nut is tightened or removed and a large head which provides a greater bearing surface for soft materials. Originally designed for attaching elevator buckets to conveyer belts. Similar to a carriage bolt, except the head is thin and flat.
Description:Elevator bolts are threaded fasteners with a thin body and round head. These bolts may have either a square or ribbed neck to stop bolts from turning when a nut is tightened. They are used in tight spaces with moving parts such as in elevators and conveyor belts.
Application:Why is it called an elevator bolt?
They are called "elevator bolts" because they are often used to attach buckets to conveyor belts in grain elevators, which are used to transport grain and other materials vertically.
These fanged elevator bolts were used to secure new sheets of plywood decking to a pontoon boat too. The fangs bite into the wood to keep the head of the bolt from the wood body.
Others:What are the different types of elevator bolts?
Elevator bolts comes in fanged head, ribbed neck and slotted head styles. Elevator bolts are often referred as bucket bolts or elevator bucket bolts. Bucket bolts are often used with hex nuts or nylock nut, along with washer set.
