Product Description
Dipropylene Glycol (Ordinary Grade) is a co-product in the manufacture of propylene glycol, which is produced by hydrolyzing propylene oxide with excess water at high temperature and pressure. Dipropylene glycol regular grade is a distillate containing more than 99% dipropylene glycol.
Dipropylene glycol is a colorless, essentially odorless, water-soluble and moderately viscous hygroscopic liquid with low vapor pressure and toxicity, and is a mixture of several structural isomers.

Dipropylene glycol (normal grade) is used as a solvent, coupling agent and chemical intermediate. Typical applications include:
·Esterification reaction with benzoic acid to make dipropylene glycol dibenzoate used as plasticizer.
·As a reactant in unsaturated polyester resin, it can increase the flexibility and hydrolytic stability of the finished resin.
·Esterification reaction with acrylic acid to produce dipropylene glycol diacrylate, used in radiation curing resin formulations.
·It is used to increase flexibility in dicyclopentadienyl unsaturated polyester resin system.
·It is used as a starting agent in polyurethane polyol synthesis, and can also be used as a polyol in polyurethane rigid foam.
Dipropylene Glycol's excellent solubility enables it to be used in specific oils, low volatility and low toxicity enable it to be used in brake fluid formulations, cutting oils, spinning machine lubricants, printing inks, coatings, industrial soaps, etc., and also as a solvent in pesticide and insecticide formulations.
