Geosynthetic Clay Liner is made by filling high-expansion sodium-based bentonite between specially designed composite geotextiles and non-woven fabrics, using a needle-punching method to create a bentonite impermeable mat. This process forms numerous small fiber spaces that prevent the bentonite particles from flowing in one direction. When exposed to water, a uniformly high-density gel-like waterproof layer is formed within the mat, effectively preventing water leakage. Geosynthetic Clay Liner not only possesses the characteristics of geotechnical materials but also exhibits excellent waterproof performance, which is durable and does not age or corrode due to environmental changes.

Compactness and Waterproof Performance: Under water pressure conditions, Geosynthetic Clay Liners can form a high-density isolation membrane, with a permeability of less than α×10^-11 m/sec when the thickness is approximately 3mm, which is equivalent to a compactness 100 times that of 30cm thick clay, demonstrating strong self-water retention capabilities. Due to the use of natural inorganic materials, Geosynthetic Clay Liners possess permanent waterproof performance, which does not age or corrode even after prolonged exposure or changes in the surrounding environment, ensuring long-lasting waterproof capabilities.
Ease of Construction: Compared to other waterproof materials, the construction of Geosynthetic Clay Liners is relatively simple, requiring no heating or adhesive application. Connections and fixations are primarily achieved using bentonite powder along with nails, washers, etc. After construction, there is no need for special inspections, and any waterproof defects are easy to repair. This waterproof material is one of the quickest to install among existing waterproof materials.
