Product performance
White crystalline powder, odorless, easily soluble in water, easily hygroscopic, with a molecular weight of 404.6, pH value of 4.8 ± 1 (5% aqueous solution, g/ml), and solubility in water ≥ 60% (g/ml, 25 ºC). Scope of Application
EDTA salts can protect the cellular components of blood, do not affect white blood cell count and size, have minimal impact on red blood cell morphology, and can inhibit platelet aggregation. They are suitable for general hematological tests. Except for the separation and testing of platelets, it is not suitable for coagulation tests and platelet kinetic energy tests, nor for the determination of calcium ions, potassium ions, sodium ions, iron ions, alkaline phosphatase, creatine kinase, and leucine aminopeptidase, as well as PCR tests.
The International Committee for Standardization in Hematology (ICSH) recommends EDTA dipotassium salt as the preferred anticoagulant for blood cell counting and classification. Compared with EDTA tripotassium, its solubility is lower and its anticoagulation speed is slower.
