Product Indications
In long-term treatment of coronary artery disease; for prevention of angina pectoris; in the treatment of continuous post-infarction angina pectoris; in conjunction with digitalis or diuretics for the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure.
 

PHARMACOKINETICS
Isosorbide Mononitrate Tablets are completely absorbed from gastrointestinal tracts after oral administration. ISMN is not subjected to first pass metabolism in the liver. The absolute bioavailability of ISMN from Isosorbide Mononitrate Tablets is nearly 100%. Maximum serum concentrations of isosorbide mononitrate are achieved 30 to 60 minutes after ingestion of XING KANG. The duration of antihypertensive activity is 6 hours and the mean elimination half-life is about 4 to 5 hours. The rate of clearance is the same in healthy young adults, in patients with various degrees of renal, hepatic, or cardiac dysfunction, and in the elderly. ISMN is cleared from the serum by denitration to isosorbitol (about 37%) and dextrorotatory sorbitol (about 7%) and then eliminated in the urine. In addition, about 25% of the dose is excreted as glucurnic acid, 2% as unchanged drug, less than 1% is excreted via feces. No metabolite of ISMN has vasodilative effect.
