Product Description

Acetic acid, also known as acetic acid, chemical formula CH3COOH, is an organic monobasic acid, which is the main component of vinegar. Pure anhydrous acetic acid (glacial acetic acid) is a colorless hygroscopic liquid with a freezing point of 16.6 ºC (62 ºF). After solidification, it is a colorless crystal. Its aqueous solution is weakly acidic and highly corrosive, which is strongly corrosive to metals. Steam is irritating to eyes and nose.
Acid is widely distributed in nature. For example, in fruit or vegetable oil, acetic acid mainly exists in the form of ester. In animal tissues, excreta and blood, acetic acid exists in the form of free acid. Many microorganisms can convert different organic substances into acetic acid by fermentation.
Acidity of acetic acid
The carboxyl hydrogen atom of acetic acid can be partially ionized into hydrogen ions (protons) and released, resulting in the acidity of carboxylic acid. Acetic acid is a weak monobasic acid in aqueous solution. The acidity coefficient is 4.8, pka=4.75 (25 ºC), and the pH of 1mol/l acetic acid solution (similar to the concentration of household vinegar) is 2.4, that is, only 0.4% of acetic acid molecules are dissociated.
