It is light yellow green crystal or powder, smell-less or with a slight touch of rust smell. Formular is C6H10FeO6.3H2O and the molecular weights is 288.04. It can be easily dissolved in hot water. It is widely used in food, beverage, dairy product, table salt, nutritive liquid medicine, etc. It has hotable results in the prevention and cure of iron-deficiency anemia. As food additive, the adding amount of Ferrous Lactate should be: 120-240mg in cereal and cereal product, 50-100mg in beverage, 300-500mg in dairy product and nurseling food, 4800-6000mg in table salt and bonbon.
It also conforms with the requirements of FCC IV and USP24.
