Product Description

Sodium butyrate (NaB) is a sodium salt of n-bu-tyric acid, with the molecular formula CH3CH2CH2COONa, a relative molecular weight of 110.09, an autoignition temperature of 425.0 ºC, and a melting point of 250.0~253.0 ºC. Generally white to almost white in color, it is a hygroscopic powder with a fluffy appearance and a special cheese rancidity like odor. It is easily soluble in water, and the pH of the aqueous solution is alkaline. It is stable to light and heat.
