Product Description
From hydrolysis of fiber raw materials, this project is to produce furfural (Furan Formaldehyde).
Corn cobs are best materials with high output of furfural. The hydrolysis is easy to control.
The main products - furfural, is good organic chemical materials.
The by products - furfural residues, can be used as fuel for boiler, used as fertilizer to improve saline and used as materials to produce charcoals.
Furfural Production Process Steps:
Step 1:
The corn cobs are crushed through crusher machine, and conveyed into reactor through conveyor belt.
Step 2:
Dilute sulfuric acid with the density of 3% - 10%, are added into reactor. (corn cob : dilute sulfuric acid = 1 : 0.03). And the
corn cobs are adequately mixed with dilute sulfuric acid.
Step 3:
High pressure steam are input into reactor. The reaction lasts for 5 - 8 hours under the condition of 140 - 230 ºC temperature) and 0.3 - 1.0 Mpa (pressure.) The furfural generates with high temperature steam together.
Step 4:
The furfural steam are condensed through condensers, and conveyed into gas dike tower (column). The waste water is discharged through the bottom of tower; The mixtures (water steam and furfural) are on the top of tower.
Step 5:
The mixtures will be conveyed into oil water separating tank after condensing.
In the upper stratum of tank, the furfural is about 8%, this part of mixtures are conveyed into knockout tower to remove the
methyl alcohol. After removing the low boiling by-products, the mixtures are back to gas dike tower.
In the lower stratum of tank, the furfural is about 6%, this part of mixtures are conveyed into neutralization tower to remove the acid. After neutralization, the mixtures are conveyed into water separating column. The water in the top of column, will be back to oil water separating tank after condensing. The products in the bottom of column, will be rectification for final products-furfural.
