The outer sheath is subjected to a DC withstand voltage test of 5kv-10kv for 1 minute.Through the step voltage method and the clamp current method, the special identification signal converted by the 220VAC full wave rectifier is applied to the cable through the connecting wire for positioning, and then the cable fault is accurately found.

Host operating instructions
1 Insert the red high-voltage wire into the "high-voltage output" terminal, and the other end is connected to a metal sheath or armor, and the "grounding" is reliable. During the process of connecting the cable, do not start the connection;
2 After the wiring is completed, connect to the AC220V power supply. Turn on;
3 When confirming the status of the on-site cables and the correct wiring, check whether the " Voltage Adjustment" is turned counterclockwise for zero adjustment before starting. When the start button light is on, it means that it has been adjusted to the zero position. started.
4 Press the "Start" button, the "Stop button light" lights up, select "Positioning/Withstand voltage function switch button" to select the working state, positioning mode: "Green light" on; Withstand voltage mode: "Red light" "Bright.
In the positioning mode, you can adjust the " frequency adjustment" knob to adjust the voltage output frequency;
5 Rotate "Voltage Adjustment" clockwise to observe the voltmeter and ammeter. Select the appropriate voltage output;
6 After the test, turn "Voltage Adjustment" to zero position counterclockwise, press the "Stop" button, the instrument stops working, and then turns off the switch.
7 The test connection can be removed only after the high voltage discharge is performed on the faulty cable.
Fault Location Operation Instructions

1 Step voltage method

A test voltage is applied between the test point of the faulty cable and the ground to form a distributed electric field with an entrance around the entrance of the cable. There is no potential difference in the electric field with the same radius at any point, but there is a potential difference between any two points with different radii (points a and b). When the distance between the two points is fixed, the stronger the potential difference is, the two points close to the center.
Using this feature, we can move the two points a and B to gradually approach the center point. When the fault point is just between a and B, the potential difference becomes zero. If you continue to move above the fault point, the polarity of the potential difference will be reversed, so moving back and forth can accurately determine the grounding point.
2 current method
When one of the tunnel cables has a ground fault, we use the currents in different directions before and after the fault point to detect the fault. Which method is to boost the impact high-voltage signal to the fault cable to discharge the fault point, and generate the current of opposite polarity before and after the fault point, but the current at the fault point is the minimum.
According to the above principle, we can use Cable sheath fault locator and the receiving clamp to detect the fault point. Clamp the receiving clip on the cable and the receiving box will indicate the direction. When the fault point continues to be crossed, the current with opposite polarity will be obtained, such as back and forth movement to accurately judge the grounding point.

Precautions for use of the instrument and common faults
1. During the test, it is forbidden to touch the high-voltage connecting line and the tested cable to avoid high-voltage injury;
2 do not turn on the power supply when the cable is connected, and turn off the power supply when the test is finished;
3 when the voltage regulation is not at the zero position, the instrument cannot be started;
4. If the receiver cannot be reset to zero, please remove the back cover of the receiver and check whether the 9V battery is charged;
5 the grounding must be reliable.
