Magnetic Pickup Speed Sensor MEVS Series
MEVS series speed sensor is installed perpendicular to the rotation direction of the gear. When the gear is driven to rotate by the measured shaft, the tooth top and tooth valley of the gear tooth pass through the sensor detection end alternately, which makes the air gap between the sensor pole shoe end and the gear tooth alternately change, causing the magnetic circuit magnetic resistance of the sensor to change alternately.
The sensor outputs an AC signal. Every time the gear rotates a tooth, the signal just goes through a cycle, so the frequency of the output signal is directly proportional to the gear speed. Gear speed = signal frequency × 60 / gear teeth number. The number of gear teeth is fixed, and the speed of the measured shaft can be known after the frequency meter measures the signal frequency. It has the advantages of small volume and reliable performance. It can detect the speed of gear and keyway continuously.
