Tetrahydrofuran is an important organic synthesis raw material and a solvent with excellent performance. Especially suitable for the dissolution of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride, and butylamine. Widely used as a solvent and reaction solvent for surface coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, inks, tape, and film coatings. When used for electroplating aluminum solution, the thickness and brightness of the aluminum layer can be arbitrarily controlled. Tetrahydrofuran can also be used as an odorant (recognition additive) in fuel gas and a surface treatment agent for synthetic leather.

Tetrahydrofuran, abbreviated as THF in English, is a heterocyclic organic compound. It belongs to ethers and is the complete



hydrogenation product of aromatic compound furan.
Tetrahydrofuran is one of the strongest polar ethers. It is used as a medium polar solvent in chemical reaction and extraction. It is colorless and volatile liquid at room temperature and has an odor similar to ether. Soluble in most organic solvents such as water, ethanol, ether, acetone, and Chemicalbook benzene, it is called "universal solvent". It is partially miscible with water at room temperature, and some unscrupulous reagent vendors make huge profits by mixing tetrahydrofuran reagent with water. As THF tends to form peroxide during storage, antioxidant BHT is generally added to industrial products. Moisture content <=0.2%. It has the characteristics of low toxicity, low boiling point and good fluidity.
