Properties:Sodium bicarbonate, with the molecular formula NaHCO3, is an inorganic compound, white powder or fine crystals, odorless, salty, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol (insoluble), and the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. It is easy to decompose when heated, and slowly decomposes in moist air to produce carbon dioxide, which begins to decompose at about 50 °C and is heated to 270 °C to completely decompose. In case of acid, it decomposes strongly and produces carbon dioxide.
Applications:
