Introduction	Glyphosate has been registered in more than 130 countries and is the herbicide with the largest production, usage and sales in the world. Described by some as an "almost ideal" herbicide, a once-in-a-century discovery, glyphosate is as important to reliable global food production as penicillin is to the treatment of human disease. However, in March 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) under the World Health Organization classified glyphosate as a compound "probably carcinogenic to humans" (Group 2A) based on epidemiological, animal and in vitro studies. Carcinogenic sites in humans: Leukemia and/or lymphoma with limited evidence.
Technical and Preparations	Original drug: 90%, 93%, 95%, 96%, 97%. Formaldehyde is required to be ≤1.2 g/kg and nitrosoglyphosate is ≤1.0 mg/kg (GB/T 12686-2017). Commonly used preparations and dosage forms: 30%, 41%, 46% water; 30%, 50%, 65% soluble powder; 50%, 58%, 70%, 75.7% soluble granules.

Main targets & applications	To control weeds and miscellaneous irrigation in fire isolation zones, the dosage of pesticides is 1 950~2 437.5 g/hm2; for non-arable land and weeds, the dosage is 1 170~1 462.5 g/hm2. Spray on stems and leaves. To control annual weeds in summer corn fields, spring corn fields, winter rapeseed fields (no-till), and cotton fields, the dosage is 750~1650 g/hm2 inter-row directional stem and leaf spray. To control annual and some perennial weeds in citrus orchards, sisal orchards, pear orchards, apple orchards, mulberry orchards, banana orchards, rubber orchards, and tea gardens, the dosage is 1 125~2 250 g/hm2 directional stem and leaf spray. To control annual weeds in no-tillage spring rapeseed fields and no-tillage late rice fields, the dosage is 1 500~2 550 g/hm2 stem and leaf spray.

Glyphosate is a non-selective, non-residue herbicide that is very effective against perennial root weeds and is widely used in rubber, mulberry, tea, orchards and sugarcane fields. It mainly inhibits enolpyruvyl shikimate phosphate synthase in plants, thereby inhibiting the conversion of shikimate into phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan, interfering with protein synthesis and causing plant death. Glyphosate is absorbed through stems and leaves and then transmitted to all parts of the plant. It can control plants from more than 40 families including monocotyledons and dicotyledons, annuals and perennials, herbs and shrubs. After glyphosate enters the soil, it quickly combines with metal ions such as iron and aluminum and loses its activity.
