In the process of "foam", the volume of asphalt rapidly expands to several times or even more than ten times of the original, and the viscosity is greatly reduced, which is conducive to mixing with aggregates. Therefore, foam asphalt is very suitable for cold recycling technology and warm mixing technology in road engineering. The foam asphalt technology originated from the United States, but with the implementation of the Technical Specification for Highway Asphalt Pavement Recycling (JTG F41-2008) issued by the Ministry of China, the foam asphalt technology has also made considerable progress and development in China.
