The pelletizing disc is divided into two types: fixed disc (rigid disc) and follower disc (flexible disc).

Due to the deformation caused by the thermal stress of the template and the settlement of the guide rail foundation of the underwater pelletizer, it is easy to cause a gap between the cutting blade belt installed on the fixed disc and the template pelletizing belt. During the pelletizing process, the knife pad, knife entanglement, and even enema occur, which directly affects the appearance quality and production efficiency of the resin particles. The fixed disc has high requirements for the installation and adjustment of the pelletizing knife and template. In recent years, new equipment has gradually switched to follower discs.

The follower disc developed and designed by Shenyang Jinfeng is to ensure that the disc drive shaft has sufficient transmission torque and axial force. Through the use of special structural design of connecting materials and connection methods, the disc can achieve a certain range of end face swing compensation under a certain external force, as the template pelletizing belt deviates. Its biggest feature is that it can compensate in any direction of 360° around the cutter disc, with a maximum compensation of 1 mm. Therefore, it not only meets the end face swing requirements, but also makes the cutter and the template fit evenly, improves the pelletizing quality, and prolongs the service life of the cutter and the template.
