Insecticide Acaricide Hexythiazox Products 98%TC, 10%WP for Killing Spider Mite
The mechanism of action of Hexythiazox is to inhibit chitin synthesis in insects and disrupt metabolism. This leads to nymphs being unable to molt normally or experiencing deformed molts, ultimately resulting in slow death. Hexythiazox is a thiazolidinone acaricide. Its main mechanisms are contact and stomach toxicity. It has good permeability to plant tissues but no systemic action. It exhibits strong ovicidal and larvicidal properties against various plant pests, but it is ineffective against adult mites. However, it can inhibit the hatching of eggs laid by female adults that come into contact with the solution.
Hexythiazox is highly lethal to mite eggs and nymphs but does not kill adult mites. It significantly reduces the hatching rate of eggs laid by female adults. It is not sensitive to temperature and has a slow effect, usually showing significant results seven days after application. Its residual effect can last up to about 50 days. Hexythiazox has low toxicity to aquatic animals and is non-toxic to predatory mites and beneficial insects. It is safe for bees at normal application rates.
Application
In vegetable production, Hexythiazox is used to control red spider mites and all stages of Tetranychus mites, with a spray of a 5% Hexythiazox emulsion diluted to 1500-2000 times. It is also effective against cotton spider mites, red spider mites, and turnip red spider mites, using the same 5% fenpyroximate emulsion diluted to 1500-2000 times for spraying.
Hexythiazox is also employed in the control of bacterial leaf blight in rice and fusarium head blight in wheat. For bacterial leaf blight in rice, a 3% Hexythiazox microemulsion of 60-100 ml per mu or a 5% fenpyroximate suspension of 35-50 grams per mu can be applied, with subsequent applications every 5-7 days based on weather conditions and field occurrence. For fusarium head blight in wheat, a 1.5% fenpyroximate aqueous emulsion at 40-50 ml per mu or a mixture of 27% tebuconazole and Hexythiazox at 25-35 ml per mu can be used for control.
