Insecticide/ Insecticida Spinosad Products 5% 48%SC 92%TC Pesticide
Spinosad's mode of action primarily involves interfering with the nervous system of insects to achieve its insecticidal effect. Spinosad is a macrolide antibiotic that differs from typical macrolide compounds in that it does not possess antibacterial activity but has strong insecticidal properties. Its mechanism of action includes the following aspects:
1.Binding to Insect Neuronal Basolateral Membrane Channels: Spinosad binds to the basolateral membrane channels of insect neurons, causing these channels to remain open persistently, which affects the electrical potential and function of the neurons, ultimately leading to paralysis and death of the insects.
2.Interference with the Release of Neurotransmitters: Spinosad blocks the release of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, leading to disruption of signal transmission, interfering with the normal functioning of the insect nervous system, and causing paralysis and death.
3.Damage to Neuronal Excitability: Spinosad interferes with the generation and conduction of action potentials by inhibiting specific ion channels (such as sodium and potassium channels) on the neuronal membrane, thus weakening the excitability of insect neurons and impacting their physiological functions.
4.Action on γ-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) Receptors: Spinosad also acts on GABA receptors, altering the function of GABA-gated chloride channels, which further enhances its insecticidal activity.
5.Rapid Contact and Gastrointestinal Toxicity: Spinosad exhibits rapid contact and gastrointestinal toxicity by stimulating the insect's nervous system, increasing its spontaneous activity, leading to non-functional muscle contractions, exhaustion, and accompanied by tremors and paralysis.
