Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (Dodecylbenzenesulphonic acid) is an organic compound, molecular formula for C18H30SO3, light yellow to brown viscous liquid. Relative molecular mass 326.49, soluble in water, hot when diluted with water. Slightly soluble in benzene, xylene, soluble in ethanol, propanol, ether and other organic solvents. It has the functions of emulsification, dispersion and decontamination.

Dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid is mainly used for the manufacture of anionic surfactant alkylbenzenesulfonic acid sodium, calcium and ammonium salts, etc. It is also used as an emulsifier for organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides, etc. It is also used as a catalyst for the curing of amino baking paints. [1] It can be used as a curing catalyst for amino baking paints, used to formulate various liquid and solid detergents, and also used in various cosmetic formulations. Because it is stable in acidic solution and has good washing performance, it is often used in the preparation of acidic solution detergent such as toilet cleaner.
