Description:
Acrolein is a colorless or yellow liquid with a disagreeable odor. It dissolves in water very easily and quickly changes to a vapor
when heated. It also burns easily. Small amounts of acrolein can be formed and can enter the air when trees, tobacco, other plants,
gasoline, and oil are burned. Acrolein is used as a pesticide to control algae, weeds, bacteria, and mollusks. It is also used to make
other chemicals.
Application:
This product can be used to manufacture methionine (feed additive); Allyl alcohol produced by reduction is used as raw material
for glycerol production. After oxidation to form acrylic acid, can be further prepared acrylic acid ester,used in acrylic paint; Acrolein
is the raw material for making glutaraldehyde, 1,2, 6-hextriol and crosslinking agent.Also used in the manufacture of colloidal osmium,
ruthenium, rhodium; 2, 3-dibromopropanal can be obtained by the action of acrolein with bromine, which can be used to produce
methotrexate, an antitumor drug. Acrolein is a very important intermediate in the production of bio-pesticide imidacloprid.
