Mode field converting fiber array (MFD-FA)
The mode field diameter conversion FA provides a method for low-loss coupling to waveguides with a smaller mode field. A short section of ultra-high numerical aperture single-mode fiber (UHNA) is spliced to the pigtail of a standard SM or PM fiber to achieve mode field conversion. Customized mode field diameters can be provided, such as conversion from 3.2 μm/3.3 μm/4 μm/5.5 μm to 9 μm. Special assembly and polishing processes and high-precision V-groove substrates are adopted to achieve low insertion loss. All-quartz materials are used, which are resistant to high temperatures.

Polarization-maintaining fiber array (PM-FA) can keep the polarization state of light waves unchanged during the transmission process, and can give full play to the superiority of coherent reception. The polarization-maintaining fiber array is to install a polarization-maintaining fiber ribbon on the array substrate by using V-shaped grooves (i.e., V-grooves, V-Groove), and can achieve highly dense parallel transmission while ensuring the stability of light wave polarization.
