Brief introduction to mullite:
Mullite (or mullite) is a series of minerals consisting of aluminosilicate minerals. Mullite is the only stable two element compound in Al2O3 SiO2 system. Mullite is a mineral formed by aluminosilicate at high temperature. Mullite will be formed when aluminum silicate is heated artificially. The natural mullite crystals are slender needles and radiate clusters. Mullite is used to produce high temperature refractory materials. It is widely used as a thermal barrier coating in C/C composites. The only stable two element compound under atmospheric pressure in the mullite AI203-SI02 system is 3Al2O3. 2SiO2 chemical formula.
