How long does it take for Q-switch laser to heal?
Gradually, this pigmentation gets settled and blends with the surrounding skin. Laser treatments work by using the body's own healing mechanism, so the skin takes at least 7 to 10 days to heal completely.
Is it painful?
The laser energy feels like many tiny hot dots on your skin. The process is very tolerable.
What else should I do when I go for laser treatments?
Avoid sun tanning for 7 days before and after the treatment. Also apply appropriate sunscreen.
Does Q-Switch laser cause scarring?
Q-switched lasers have effectively treated tattoos with a low risk of scarring. We describe 2 patients with "double tattoos" who developed hypertrophic scarring following a single Q-switched laser treatment.
How often can I get Q-switch laser?
The whole face is treated and 4-6 treatment sessions are required at intervals of 1-4 weeks. Compared to other forms of rejuvenation, there is minimal down-time associated with the Q-switch.
